BRADENTON -- One hundred percent of the graduates from the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota 2012 Physical Therapist Assistant class who took the National Physical Therapist Assistant Examination passed on the first attempt. Of the 16 graduates, one graduate has not yet taken the exam.
SCF's graduates exceeded the Florida first-time pass rate of 81 percent and the national pass rate of 83 percent on the examination, which is administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy.
Physical therapist assistants are skilled health care providers who work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist in a variety of settings including acute and rehabilitation hospitals, private physical therapy offices, community health centers, outpatient and sports facilities, corporate or industrial health centers, research institutions, extended care facilities, home health agencies, pediatric centers, schools, colleges and universities.
